Book a Skip Collection in Selby or York

Fill in the collection form on this page with your name, address, postcode, phone number and email, tell us what type of waste is in the skip, and confirm it is level loaded. Collections are normally made within two working days of your request, six days a week across Selby, York and the surrounding area. If you do not book an early collection, we collect on the date you chose when you hired the skip, which is up to 14 days from drop off for standard skips.

Yes. If you finish the job before your hire period ends, use the form on this page to book an early collection and we will normally pick the skip up within two working days. There is no need to wait for the original collection date, and booking early frees your drive sooner.

We will collect your skip on the collection date you chose when you booked. Standard skips are collected up to 14 days after drop off and larger skips up to seven days, before an additional charge applies for longer hire. If you need the skip longer, call the office before that date.

Yes. The skip must be filled level with the top edge, not piled above it, so it can be lifted onto the wagon and transported safely. The collection form asks you to confirm the skip is level loaded to the fill line. If it is overloaded, our driver may have to leave material behind.

We ask for the address and postcode where the skip is, a phone number and email, and the main type of waste inside it: rubble or soil, household, green waste, mixed construction or plasterboard. Tell us about anything else in the skip, such as a mattress or fridge, so the right paperwork and charges are in place.

Tell us before collection using the other items box on the form. Mattresses, fridges, freezers and tyres carry an additional charge and plasterboard must be kept separate, so a skip collected with undeclared items may be charged for afterwards. Hazardous items such as gas bottles, paints and asbestos cannot be collected at all.

Yes. We collect skips across York and the surrounding villages as well as Selby, Goole, Tadcaster and the rest of our service area. Every skip returns to our own waste transfer station at Selby Energy Park for sorting and recycling. For York enquiries you can also call our York office on 01904 411445.

No, you do not need to be at home when we collect your skip. The driver just needs to be able to reach it, so make sure gates are unlocked, the entrance is clear and no cars are parked in the way. If access is likely to be tricky, mention it in the collection form.

Yes. This is called a skip exchange: on the same visit we take the full skip away and drop an empty one in its place. The new skip does not have to be the same size, so you can go bigger or smaller if the job has changed. Call our Selby office on 01757 642032 to arrange an exchange.
