How commercial waste collection works
1. Tell us about your waste. What your business produces, roughly how much, and how often it needs collecting. A short call to 01757 642032 is usually enough.
2. We recommend the container. Skips from 8 to 16 yards for occasional clear outs and smaller sites, or 20 and 40 yard RoRo skips for businesses with a steady flow of waste.
3. We deliver and collect on your schedule. Collections run six days a week, and a full RoRo can be removed with 24 hours’ notice.
4. We sort and recycle it. Everything comes back to our licensed waste transfer station in Selby, where it is separated into material streams. We aim to recycle up to 90% and send nothing to landfill.
Construction waste disposal for builders and developers
Builders, developers and contractors use our skips and RoRo containers for everything from a single extension to a full site clearance. Mixed construction waste, timber, rubble and packaging are sorted at our Selby site, and plasterboard travels as a separate load. Hardcore and brick rubble are screened on site into recycled aggregates, so the material from your demolition does not go to waste. If you have your own van or tipper, our trade tipping service lets you bring loads straight to the site instead of waiting for a skip.
Business waste we collect, and what we cannot take
Our commercial skips and RoRo containers take mixed general waste, timber, metal, plastics, packaging, rubble and soil, green waste, and plasterboard as a separate load. For safety and legal reasons we cannot take asbestos, oils and fuels, paints, gas bottles and cylinders, or corrosive, flammable, toxic or infectious materials. If your business produces any of those, call us and we will point you to the right route.
Why choose a RoRo skip for commercial waste?
RoRo stands for roll on roll off. It is a large open container that is rolled on and off the wagon rather than lifted, so it holds far more than a standard skip and suits sites that produce a lot of waste.
Customers across a range of industry sectors prefer this method of commercial waste management, because:
- There is much less skip movement required
- You will enjoy skips with a huge volume capacity
- Ideal for industries that produce a lot of waste material
- Our RoRo skips offer mixed material capability
- Waste removal is available 6-days a week, with just 24-hours notice
Any business that has a continuous requirement for waste removal should consider the RoRo option. Still not convinced? Have a look through some of our FAQs, or get in touch with any queries.

Commercial Waste Collection: Frequently Asked Questions
What types of business do you collect waste from?
We work with manufacturers, printers and distribution centres as well as builders, developers and businesses with a one off clear out across Selby, Goole, York and Castleford. If your company produces a large amount of waste on a regular basis, we will recommend a skip or RoRo container to match the volume and a collection pattern to suit.
What is a RoRo skip?
RoRo stands for roll on, roll off. It is a large open container that is rolled onto a hook loader wagon rather than lifted, so it can hold far more than a standard skip. Our RoRo skips come in 20 and 40 yard sizes and suit businesses and sites that produce high volumes of waste material.
What are the benefits of a RoRo skip for commercial waste?
A RoRo means much less skip movement on your site, a huge volume capacity, and mixed material capability so different waste streams can go in one container. Any business with a continuous requirement for waste removal should consider the RoRo option over repeated smaller skip exchanges.
How quickly can you collect a full RoRo?
We can remove a full RoRo skip with just 24 hours notice, six days a week. For businesses that fill containers on a predictable cycle, we can set up regular collections so a full container is never left waiting. Call our Selby team on 01757 642032 to agree a schedule.
Can we put mixed waste in one container?
Yes. Our RoRo skips offer mixed material capability, and everything is segregated at our Selby waste transfer station after collection. The exceptions are hazardous waste such as asbestos, oils, paints, gas bottles and chemicals, which we cannot accept, and plasterboard, which must be kept separate.
Do you collect commercial waste in York and Goole?
Yes. We provide commercial waste collection in Selby, Goole, York and Castleford and the surrounding areas, with a dedicated team based in Selby. Call the Selby office on 01757 642032 or the York office on 01904 411445 to discuss your requirements.
How do we get a price for commercial waste collection?
Get in touch with our Selby based team by phone or through the contact form. Tell us what kind of waste your business produces, roughly how much and how often, and where a container could sit. We will recommend the right size and collection pattern and give you a clear, cost effective quote.
Do you offer smaller skips for businesses as well as RoRo containers?
Yes. Alongside the 20 and 40 yard RoRo containers we supply 8, 12, 14 and 16 yard skips for shops, offices, landlords and smaller sites, plus enclosed commercial skips for waste that needs to be kept secure. Tell us about your volume and we will match the container to it.
What is classed as business waste?
Business or commercial waste is any waste produced in the course of trade, whether from an office, a shop, a factory or a building site. It cannot go in household bins or be taken to a council recycling centre, so it needs a licensed waste carrier such as Phillips Waste Management, licence CBDU278627.
How much of our commercial waste will be recycled?
Every load goes to our own fully licensed waste transfer station at Selby Energy Park, where it is segregated into wood, metal, plastic, soil, hardcore and other streams. We aim to recycle up to 90 per cent of the waste we collect and we send zero waste to landfill.
Can construction sites use your commercial waste service?
Yes. Whether you work in construction or are hiring a skip on behalf of a contractor, we offer an all encompassing construction waste recycling service and aim to recycle up to 90 per cent of the waste we remove from your site. Our 14 yard skips and RoRo containers are the sizes most used on sites.
Do you provide a waste transfer note with every collection?
Yes. Commercial customers receive a waste transfer note with every collection, which is the duty of care paperwork your business needs to show its waste went to a licensed carrier. We carry waste under licence CBDU278627 and every load goes to our own permitted waste transfer station at Selby Energy Park.
